I’m Amy!
--an Artist and Art Educator born and raised in SE Idaho. My career began at 3 years old, with my first art exhibit--a sharpie drawing on my parents' kitchen cupboards. (Unfortunately, it wasn't well received.)
Growing up, I drew constantly, especially during math class. Deciding I was tired of getting in trouble for drawing during school, I chose to study art in college.
Education
I combined my love for art + being with people, and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Art Education from BYU-Idaho.
Teaching
After teaching a year of Jr High and High School art, I went rogue and began independently teaching classes/private lessons to people of all ages--at community centers, staff parties, church groups, from my own home, etc.
Currently…
I’m building my business—making commission portraits, teaching private lessons, heading up the Shelley Youth Art Club, as well as teaching art classes in an after-school program. (ADHD is my superpower/kryptonite for getting involved in many things!)
My husband Patrick, I, and our three little hyper sons are currently squatters living in my parents' basement while we build our dream home out in the country against the foothills.
Next to our home, we're building a studio where I'll create art, teach classes, and host many dance parties!
